Gohugo Website Developer

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract

We are looking for a self-directed, proficient individual to work on improving our gohugo website. This will be part-time contract work initially, but we are looking to expand the role for a candidate that demonstrates other useful publishing and graphic design related skills.

Responsibilities:

• Building and improving gohugo based sites and templates
• Writing documentation, copy-editing, and proofreading
• Designing and producing graphics
• Supporting related website publishing and content-production tasks

Required skills and experience:

• Gohugo website building experience
• CSS skills
• Experience with the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP)
• Experience with the Inkscape Program
• Intermediate GNU+Linux skills
• Intermediate proficiency with git
• Basic golang experience
• Basic proficiency with bash
• Internally motivated, autodidact
• Proficient communication in English (both written and spoken)
• University degree (not necessarily software-related) or relevant experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Growth mindset and motivated by constructive feedback
• Proven ability to work independently, manage schedules, and meet deadlines
• Highly motivated, proactive, and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
• High standards of integrity and transparency

Bonus skills and experience:

• Experience with the mgmt config project
• PostgreSQL administration
