Our new provisioning architecture is designed to keep deployment reliable, repeatable, and independent of external connectivity. Our automation system uses the initial configuration and server BMC inventory to provision each machine across the dedicated management network. Once the cluster is established, mgmtconfig copies itself onto the servers and continues operating autonomously, so routine management does not depend on the original automation device or an active internet connection.

The servers are initially configured as virtualization hosts, providing a
flexible foundation for a wide range of custom virtual-machine workloads. The
same cluster can run application, storage, and supporting infrastructure
services while also hosting the ongoing mgmtconfig management workload.
Separating provisioning and BMC traffic from the application and storage network
keeps the architecture clean, resilient, and adaptable as deployments grow.
